Bayou City Market began as an idea to connect and share with the community. Before we even opened the doors to our small, downtown location, we wanted a way to bring visitors into a single place. This place would give a taste of what Houston is made of. While other places may plainly sell items, we showcase the creativity and artistry of the residents here.

Like any beautiful garden, we did not grow from day to night. It took hard work and dedication to blossom into something great. We invite you to walk in and see that we are more than just a store, but a hub for inspiration and imagination. We hold several monthly events that include opportunities for artists to showcase their work, volunteers to teach classes in upholstery, technicians to do repairs on technology, and much more. Our goal is to connect and share with the community, and that continues to be our driving force today.

With the focus of reducing the amount of waste and being green, we accept used electronics, furniture, paints, and textiles. With your generous donations, these items, such as the textiles, can be repurposed into the beautiful décor found in our shop.
